RX-9 Ultra
Hoyt refines the RX series with a tighter cam profile and a redesigned grip insert aimed at competitive 3D shooters.
Hoyt's RX-9 Ultra is a quiet refinement, not a reinvention. The HBX-Pro cam keeps the wall feel that made the RX-8 popular but adds a 1/8" tighter let-off transition, which testers report makes the back wall feel firmer without any net change in draw weight.
The grip is the bigger story. The new insert sits 3 degrees lower than last year and uses a denser polymer that resists the warm-hand torque shift many archers fight on long shoot days.
Spec highlights: 33" axle-to-axle, 4.0 lb mass, IBO speed of 342 fps, brace height 6.25". MSRP $1,899.
Who it's for: target archers who liked the RX-8 platform and want a slightly more aggressive cam, and 3D competitors hunting a quieter shot.
